I have a weakness. Well, I have several, and I could write about most of them right here on this blog. The one I’m talking about this week has been forbidden to me for the last five months because of my pregnancy, and now that the baby is here, I simply cannot resist the call to go to the store and get some chocolate covered graham crackers.
Now, I sincerely wish my weakness could be something wholesome – even remotely so – but my tastes run a little too shallow for that. On a cold day, there is nothing better than cuddling up with a box of generic, store-brand chocolate covered graham crackers. For some reason, the generic brands just taste better. I don’t think it is the satisfaction of money saved, but it could be. That doesn’t work with other foods, but those generic cookies are the best!
Here locally, our two store brands are Western Family and Great Value. Both of these are superior to the name brand chocolate covered graham crackers, and they last approximately five minutes out of the package at our house.
So what is it that makes these taste so good? Is it the dark chocolate coating? The crispy, crunchy graham cracker? I don’t really know, but I know where I’m headed as soon as I finish this post. If you need me, you can find me curled up on the couch with a mouth full of one of the best desserts ever. And no, I won’t share.
