It's New Year's Resolution Time

With all the talk about sweets and desserts on this blog, you can almost gain weight just by reading.  We’ll call it water weight from all the salivating.  I think it might be time to talk about the number one New Year’s resolution, weight loss.

Do you buy in to resolutions each year?  Is the start of a new year a good time to lay out goals and work to achieve them?  If you are ready to begin a change, it seems as though a new year is a perfect way to begin.

If you are resolving to lose weight this year, why not make it a small and realistic goal?  If you are 50 pounds overweight, you might be taking on too much to try to lose it all in one year.  Sure, you can do it, but the best weight loss is slow and steady, and gives you the greatest chance of keeping the weight off.

So how will you accomplish your weight loss goal?  Joining a gym can be a great way to stay accountable and see results, but only if you have the motivation to get up and go to it on a regular basis.  Home gym equipment seems to rarely work, unless you have very good discipline, because it is so easy to put off doing it until some other time.

However you decide to approach it, let this year be the year you accomplish your resolutions.  Your body and your confidence will both be better off for it.
